Intellectually I know bats are mammals not birds, but it still amazed me to see this bat mom nursing her baby!!  Taken in Brazil.

Thanks for your comments. As the name implies, she was tucked inside her tent so this was the only perspective I could obtain. I was thrilled to be able to observe this behavior.

Bats are fascinating creatures! Just imagine having to do everything upside down, including caring for your young ones. We have had some images of these clever tent making bats under their 'leaf tents' before, but I don't recall seeing one with a pup before, so this is a lovely find. Well done, Diana!
