A friend told me about some bears that had been visiting a man's property to eat some old discarded apples and he set up a shoot for me. I was shooting through a first floor old barn window in the early evening as the shadows were already over the field. Several smaller bears were already there when this larger male, with the partially bitten off ear, came across.  When I shot him the first time he gave me this look that made me feel like a Happy Meal. Fortunately I had several nice shots of different bears and have never felt the need to do it again !!

Sadly, we don't have any wild bears on our little island, so I have to make do with enjoying the images that get posted from across the pond, and this is a beauty, Warren! I had to laugh at your 'Happy Meal' comment, but it does fit so well with the feeling you get when eye to eye with an animal that could do you some serious damage. I always think that bears have that solid appearance with a leg at each corner, and your lovely image doesn't disappoint. Very nice detail - well worth a click, and even late in the day you managed to get a light in his eyes, which isn't always easy with bears. The scattering of wildflowers add a nice touch. Well done!

Crickey Warren! That is one big MF... LOL. Going with pretty well what Carol said. Great to see and even better not to have the "Happy Meal" rush that I might not be on the menu.

I've had the "Happy Meal" feeling myself with a Grizzly Bear in Yellowstone. Very nice image of this bear and the missing portion of his ear tells us he means business. Well done!
