Unlike the Greys, the Red Squirrels are active throughout the winter season. They acquire a thicker winter coat with the adorable trademark ear tufts. This individual was rummaging for the hazelnuts that it has buried back in autumn. In the process, he dipped his nose into the snow and looked rather funny. This was a quick shot when he momentarily paused for my camera.
Regards,

Des

Its not so much who ate all the nuts, Des - more like, who ate all the pies!! What a chubby little squirrel!

Very cute with a snowy nose! It looks like a successful cache for this well-fed little squirrel. I do love those tufts too-our red squirrels don't have them.

Great pose Des! I'm digging the blocks of color that comprise the composition, the blue, green and reddish/orange of the squirrel. Nice and sharp on the eyes!

A very beautiful image that tells the work of this little squirrel very well.
