Adoration of the infant

I have not posted for over a year....with shifting house and the Covid lockdown etc.
We live in a Condo surrounded by forest with a view of the Strait of Malacca. In the forest is a troop of Dusky Langurs, a leaf-eating primate species found mainly in Peninsular Malaysia. They have been rated as one of the most adorable monkey species and the females give birth to carrot-colored babies. There is a debate as to the evolutionary advantage this colour confers. The infant within weeks starts to lose its unique tones and by 4 months has the adult coloration. There is no doubt young infants attract the attention of other females who rush to assist the mother in these early stages of the new life (as shown in this image).

Priceless expressions, Graeme!  Mother looks quite matter of fact about the whole business, while the adoration/envy? is apparent on the faces and in the body language of the other adults.  A lovely group image.  Good to see you again.  :)
