Wildebeest crossing the Croc infested Mara River. Look at the eye of the lead animal. Wary? Apprehensive? Fear?

Nice angle with them crossing on the diagonal, Ron. Good detail, water action and lovely light. Who wouldn't be apprehensive of this dangerous crossing!

An amazing and powerful action shot, Ron. Are there any statistics on the survival rate of such crossings?

Hi Ron: I'm not aware of any statistics re: successful crossings. I've watched once in each of two years. I saw several crocs in the water but have seen only one attack. The Gnu got away after a twenty minute fight with what I swear was a 20 ft. croc. I was told that the wildebeest "cross for free" when the crocs are full. Makes sense.  I was going post a photo but some folks seemed a bit offended by one I posted of a Leopard carrying a baby Zebra up a tree.  The circle of life ain't always pretty.
Best, RB
