A wonderful cheetah mum to 5 x 10wk old cubs and just recently happy to report all are still doing well.
I don't have to tell the majority here as to just how difficult it is to get multiple babies (of any species) AND mum all vaguely looking in the right direction.

Wonderful image, Marc! The difficulties are endless here, first that she has had five cubs, then we have to hope that some survive......... and all sorts of other problems, let alone you managing to get them all facing in pretty much the right direction! Love it!

So true Carol, many thanks!
This was taken back in early Dec, so the 5 are now approaching 8 mths, and now with good prospects of all getting to adulthood.

Well done!

She must be one heck of a mother then if all have made it this far.

On this same trip Danny,
I followed another amazing mum in Mara North conservancy with 6 cubs who are also still going strong now @ around 9/10 months.
Plus found the well documented mum in the Mara with 7 cubs hunting Impala for her large family, and also included 2 mothers both with 4 cubs each and another with 3 cubs. In fact the record for a Cheetah mother raising all cubs to maturity is an amazing 8!

So there are still some very good mothers bolstering the cheetah population in the Serengeti/Mara area. :)
