Maasai Mara National Reserve : Kenya
September 2019

Here is one of the many articles written about this foal with a rare genetic mutation that was first spotted in the Mara last September :

Many were concerned about its chance of survival into adulthood, but I have not heard anything about its eventual fate.

Have seen this foal before Mike.  (Internet doesn't miss much, especially when it drives the need to self proclaim at every opportunity.  You are such a naughty boy for not sharing sooner!  LOL.  A big credit to you first in not blasting it to all and sundry and secondly, in taking the time to share this with us.  Apparently, it has a name called Tira, named by a Maasai guide as the "Odd One".

I realise all the problems associated with these rare abnormal markings, (I also heard of this in the Okavango Delta) but you can't deny its a little beauty, Mike! Lucky you to have seen it, and get such a nice photo.
