Thought to share the range of displays, I experienced.  Going to do it in a few posts, but hope you understand and appreciate.

Start image enclosed.

Not too alarmed.   Not much going on?

Sort of intent look at something going on.

Crunched up face.  Mouth position changed.   Time to move on quickly.  Had at this point some warnings so lets stop harassing her.

Beautiful portrait, the detail is superb - I almost expect her to move!  The series taking us through her change of mood is very well done, Dave.  Well worth sharing, Thank you.  :)

Love this- a terrific series showing all her moods, and all lovely pictures in themselves. Thanks for sharing this unique journey.

Thank you all.

Funny what memories surface. (How these images resurfaced was a book I read recently, that reminded me of what I had in those images).

It was describing how Lions communicate. Two ways. Distance and close up. Distance via sound, such as roaring and scent marking... Close up via more visual signs such as their black parts. Tail, rear of ears and the lips.... Used to provide a variety of signals,...

Aggressive Threat and Defensive Threat. That triggered my memory function, LOL and a look into the archives... The Defensive threat are what you are mostly seeing here and varies in intensity. Ear retracted, eyes slitted, lips drawn back and nose wrinkled. Normally seen when facing man, and that the lion is scared. The speed that fear can turn to rage is frightening, hence another good reason to move on. (remember seeing a South African tourist filming an attack on him in the Kruger as he failed to read the signs).
