It was from a mountainscapes perspective.  Wildlife on the other hand was really limited to this species.  I have never been anywhere, including places that are hunted (which this is not) where wildlife is more skittish.  Most everything has a flee distance of more than 1km.  As for mountains, the Himalayas are incomparable.

Good to see you safely back to land again. Great perspective to showcase this mountain dweller, and I love his haughty pose against the beautiful Himalayan background. Wonderful image!

The mountain in the background beautifully defines the environment of this Urial. Love the pose and low perspective. Excellent shot.

Super image and great environment. Did the 2x work as well as it appears to have here? Hard to really know on posted images.

It is awful wide open and sharpens up dramatically when stopping down one stop.

Thanks for the reply. Doesn’t sound too bad if it is acceptable at only one stop down.

Hi E.J.

Terrific image. Welcome back to the States.
How did the Sony FE 600 F4 GMaster perform? Do you
have any thoughts that you feel comfortable sharing
About how the Sony 600 F4 compares with the
Canon EF 600 F4L USM III and the Nikon 600 F4?

Best Regards,

Roman :-)

I'll have a mini review in my next newsletter.  All of the lenses at this level are essentially perfect.  What differentiates them really is weight and balance with the Sony and the newest Canon leading the class in those items.  One thing that did become apparent is that for certain situations, the Sony cameras need a smaller spot size AF point than the smallest one available.

next newsletter.

Very Best Regards,

Roman :-)
