Southern species.  Quite different from those in my trips to Scotland.
Foul day weather wise, but was off work, and had committed to the journey so stuck with it.  Taken the other day.

Techs were the D850 and Sigma 150-600 Sport combo.  Tripod use.  1/160 F6.3 at ISO 2000.   Normally, wanting at least 1/750 and F8 but light so dire had to risk, between ISO degradation and ss.

Please feel free to view uncompressed.   and a thank you for looking.

Looks like the right choices for this exposure- beautiful red coloring in a very squirrely (?) pose. ;) Love the droplets on it's coat, the bushy tail and those paws ready for action. I wish our squirrels had those fairy-tale ear tufts, so popular in Beatrix Potter et al. Love this iconic shot!

Yes, we really have had awful weather for what seems ages now. This handsome little red is obviously more concerned with getting a meal than keeping out of the rain, and posed sweetly for you to get this lovely shot, Dave!

A great profile shot with impeccable detail and gorgeous color. The pose is excellent, and I love the greens in the background (actually my favorite part of the image due to the way they set off the reds of the squirrel). Great job, Dave!!!

The detail in this is really something - you can count the hairs and even see the droplets of rain. It really stands out against the background. A perfect pose. A very cheerful view.
