I came upon this beautiful cougar back in 2018 in the foothills of the Rockies. I had added my 1.4 teleconverter and was using a slow shutter speed  when he unexpectedly got up and came towards my position.

Nikon D500, 600 VR + 1.4, 400 iso, f7.1, 1/160, full frame, adjusted in LR.

Beautiful cougar, great perspective on the diagonal and by the look of it, a nice full belly. Wonderful find and lovely image, Gary!

BTW, the image on your blog from December 25, 2018 with the cougar against the rock is really great, as well.

In my dreams to see one of these in the wild and photograph it. Great catch with super head turn and eye contact. Yes, clicking on it makes it shine.
