Taken from the same sighting as the single walrus image posted, these four guys managed to spook themselves and so when one goes, they all go. They were quite content with our presence and there was enough comfort zone, but Walruses are easily startled and often by the most simple of things, but unlike females they are very tolerable of humans getting close providing they know you are there and so the key is to make noises, talk normally and occasionally stop when they check you out.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

I like the grouping of this quartet, all faces visible, and the first one striking the water as it makes its escape. Excellent detail, nice background and sweet light. Well worth a click for the uncompressed view, and very nicely done, Steve!

Thank you Carol. Personally it's a bit tight overall and on reflection I wished I had zoomed out a tad more, but shooting from a zodiac is not always the easiest of platforms and unless folk have experience it, then it's hard to understand some of the finer points required in obtaining the capture. In addition, I hope this has highlight how filters can enhance an image, especially a CPL one, creating deeper colours, richer tones, reduced glare from the water and overall, better/more detail compared to shooting without one, items that can be easily over looked, but at the right time a big asset.

Have a nice weekend.

Steve  :)

Nice job getting them all in and I like how they are clustered. As you mention, a bit tight, but an excellent view, all things considered. Appreciate your mention of how you got such nice color.
