I have been wanting to take this shot for a while now but have been unsuccessful until recently. Having photographed them over the last few years, I can share with you first hand that Komodo Dragons are efficient and capable predators. Although most of the time they look docile, they can move at incredible speed when they hunt. This shot has been carefully planned and was only made possible with the help and permission of the park rangers.
Regards,

Des

Wow. It appears you put your butt on the line for this one and it shows. Great perspective and timing.

Wow, this is superb, Des. Love the perspective – it looks like a living dinosaur. The tongue, raised foot, and background are a bonus.

A real in your face shot! The tong and the drool with the eye peering at you are great extra touches. A shot you can be proud of.

Excellent perspective- I feel like I might be the next victim! ;). The tongue, drool and raised foot are especially well captured. Great shot!

Such an interesting perspective. Just enough habitat inclusion to give him a sense of place.
