Wombat - Tasmania
Local knowledge is everything... Thanks to my friend who grew up in Tasmania who is making this journey with me, he knew right where to go to get these guys in the wild. a7R4, 100-400mm @ 306mm, ISO 500, f/6.3, 1/1250s Also, for those still wondering about Sony animal eye AF, it works like a charm - in this case the animal was running towards me as fast as he could (which is surprisingly fast), I was framing and zooming out simultaneously, the camera tracked the eye ball using the animal eye AF and every single shot, even the one that was so close that most of the animal was cut-off, it perfectly in focus.
