Very difficult and contrasty light for photography, Mike, and the image does appear soft. Its a shame, because you did well to catch one of these elusive animals and get him to pose so nicely for you.

Great find and nice pose of the elusive mink, Mike. Perhaps you can return and get a shot of the mink in a little less contrasty light.
