Saviour's silhouette

We found this bear on the penultimate day of our expedition to Svalbard. Trip thus far had been underwhelming. And though we spotted this bear early in the morning, we spent over 7 hrs in the zodiac over three separate trips without having any luck to photograph this handsome male polar bear. Finally, when we gave up all hope, it reappeared on the shore at around 7 pm and we could spend 1 hour photographing it against various backgrounds and light conditions. Hence the title!

For this image, to create silhouette, I chose manual mode with 1/1600s, f4.0 ISO 64 to get -1.67 EV values. So image came out pretty much done, not requiring much to be done in post processing except recovering colours in the sky.
