These deer are quite different from the Red deer I normally seek. Very, very skittish. Generally, in the day they lay up and ruminate. Guaranteed to walk away when I am spotted. Taken in the spring, with showers. Pretty well sure I was spotted when stalking but the approach I use and time taken seems to be accepted and not disturbs them.
Generally, when they are hunkered down, they are problematic to find. In the past, I've been 20 feet away and passed them by, and the only method I have found to work is walk so slowly and watch for any movement such as ear flicks, that cracks the ID of them., techs. D850. sigma 150-600 OS at 600. 1/400 F8 at ISO 2000. Please feel free to view uncompressed. Thanks for looking. Make your life spectacular!
