Thought to add the Hinds with this early morning image.  All very civilised.  (I'm noted by the Stag, but agreed between us to not intrude on their zone, hence the ladies taking no notice).  There might be other reasons for that, which may crush my ego....Lol.  14 seconds later he's also looking away at other distractions.

Techs.  D850 and Sigma sport 150-600 at 490.  1/160 F8 on ISO 1000.  Gitzo tripod.

Great eye contact with the stag, and I like the inclusion of the hinds, because it shows he is master of the herd. (With elk, the females are called the "harem" of the bull. I get that same feeling off possession here.) You are to be commended on your camouflage skills to get this close and for getting such a natural appearing image. Excellent work, Dave. Another wonderful addition to the series.

Its the same over here, Ron - the females (hinds) are the harem of the dominant stag after he has fought off the challenges of any stags who wish to take his place, for this season anyway.

A really good collection of images, Dave.  Very enjoyable to view!  :)

Isn't he magnificent! You've really caught his strong (I assume) character with that intent look. Beautifully done, as usual. :)

thanks all. Cindy, I must take up your good advice. Appreciate your time and thoughts and my "old deers", love them as I do, are something I should delve into and share. (been looking at them since I was old enough to walk in the woods unattended ).
