These guys don't usually hang out in the open.  At our cabin, we might occasionally see a small shape darting across a path, but we don't usually see more than that.  This one day in March, however, there were two or three of them hanging around near the cabin, allowing me to get several shots off.

300/2.8, on either 5D2 or 5D4, don't remember which.

It's not the voles getting into the cabin you have to worry about.  I don't think they're interested in human things.  It's the deer mice.  Even more so because they can carry hantavirus, so you pretty much need full hazmat precautions to clean up after them...
