Taken in Nakuru NP Kenya.   Wet and rainy.   Nikon Gears.  D300 and 500 AF-S at 1/320 F5.6 and ISO 400.  FF.

it had been very wet in Nakuru, so most bovines were plastered in mud which added interest, despite crippling contrast issues.

Please feel free to view uncompressed. My thanks for your time.

They do love their mud wallows!  Wet and muddy suits them perfectly with an extra layer in the fight against ticks and biting flies - and you have captured this muddy buffalo so well, Dave!  The facial expression is priceless, 'Huh.... you lookin at me?'  :)

Classic head shot! The mud adds interest, as does the open mouth. I especially like the streaks running down the face.
