This shot is taken in Svalbard on a zodiac, these Seals are always curious and great to photograph.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Lens: 200-400f/4 HH
Exposure: 1/2500s at f/5.6 ISO640 Slight crop to take the subject off centre
Processed via: LRCC Classic & PSCC2019

I've left the whisker reflections in, some may have preferred to have them removed because they appear messy.

I am always fascinated by the fact that they appear to be much more curious when in the water than they are when on land. Great expression caught as this beauty checks you out, Steve - or is it doing its best Yoda impression!

Thanks Carol.

I think the reason why they are more curious is that they can move effortless in water. Any sign of trouble they just disappear into the murky depths and are far more nibble in that environment, popping up anywhere which can be a real pain, as you left second guessing. On land they are cumbersome and much slower, as you know.

Nice detail and interesting lighting. I agree they always curious and fun to shoot.
