IIThis female fox is a mother of 8 kits, though they're so piled in there it's tough to see. I've had the privileged of being able to photograph this family for about a week now. This is the first time I've seen her bring all 8 out to nurse in the open. With the den being in very dense cover I get small windows to frame clear shots. I like the feel of intimacy because of this, especially during a motherly moment like nursing. It's been so much fun to sit for hours and get glimpses here and there into their world.

Wonderful! - experiencing moments like this is what nature appreciation is all about! She looks like such a proud parent in this image, well done!

Like this Drew. It says so many things in one frame. The cover and foliage add to the story telling in this image.

Oh, my- so lovely. The environment is perfect for the subject (s). Love the little one in front, looking up at Momma. That part, as a crop, would also work well, but I DO like to see the family nursing too. I've never heard of 8 kits!! I hope Dad is providing well. I hope you get some more takes on them too.

A lovely natural peep into their world at this intimate moment, Drew. Well worth a click for the uncompressed view to fully appreciate the suckling behaviour. What makes your image special for me, is the expression on the vixen's face. Priceless! Well done.

Carol.

What a treat! Excellent behavioral image, nice color.
If you have more room, that would be nice for me...
