Thanks Joe. A little tidbit that not everyone might know. Every time a Rattle Snake sheds its skin, a rattle is formed. Rattle Snakes, on average, sheds its skin about every nine months. To tell the age of a Rattle Snake, count the rattles and multiply that number by nine months. It a guestimate, but probably pretty close, unless the snake somehow lost some rattles along the way.

Oh my - as someone that has been struck at too many times and thankfully never bitten, but has seen this pose ....gives me the chills. You have everything here...coiled, rattle, tongue. ugh. I know about the shedding and it's rattles.

Great image. Nice job on the DOF. All the important parts appear sharp. The OOF green background is nice. I have laid down to photograph them as well but I am never very comfortable doing it.
