Male Bobcat at Point Reyes National Seashore.  Canon EOS 7D II, Sigma 150-600/5-6.3 C @ 600, f/6.3, 1/160, ISO 800.  We spotted this cat just prior to sunset from a distance and were waiting for him to hopefully come toward the road so we could take some shots in some pretty light.  Unfortunately, two Coyotes came along and the cat ran for the road way ahead of where we expected.  By the time we got close enough to photograph he had gone over a little grassy knoll and was hunting in the shade.  So much for the sunset light!  He wasn't bothered by us, but the grass was so tall this was about the best shot either one of us got before he moved further down the other side and out of sight.

Cracking shot Bob, the contrasting FG & BG works a treat, would reduce the luminosity in the FG greens a tad for mine.

The grass was tall, but it gave you a nice low perspective – well done.

You may have been disappointed , but this is still a very nice shot in the grass. It would also, possibly, be a great head shot with a big crop. Either way- the face is excellent.

A lovely sighting of this beautiful cat, Bob. That stare would do the Sphinx proud!

Congrats on the encounter, a very nice shot Bob, the out of focus foreground makes for a nice comp.
