Well.. i dunno really other than it's most likely as Males tend to kill young not of their own to bring the Lioness back into heat. (I've personally not tried that approach... ... can see a few issues with that)...
Saw this little fella tucked away some distance to the male's right, watching him getting up... Bit tucked away and busy but was lucky to spot it. D300 500 AF-S Ii at 1/125 F4 at ISO 800.. Please feel free to view uncompressed. Make your life spectacular!
