Another sheep photo from this year's rut. D500, 200-400VR @ 210, 125 iso, f4, 1/500, monopod. Cropped top and bottom for 16:9. Thankyou for your views and comments on the first bighorn photo I posted.

Classic rut body language, Gary. Perfect perspective to catch him on that ridge with the vista behind - it gives a lovely depth to the scene and a real feel for the vast habitat. Beautifully done!

Carol, I'm pleased you are able to appreciate the classic rutting pose from the photo because that was certainly the case. They lower the head, with just a slight cock to it, then accelerate towards the ewe and sniff them out. Thankyou for your kind comments everyone.

Gary, I have loved and been fascinated by animals/wildlife ever since I learned to walk.  I have watched and studied them, their behaviour and body language long before I got into photography, and there's still so much to learn.  :D
