Shot this afternoon. I was shooting Coots and without warning all Coots swam and flew to the Cattails (tall grass).
Shortly after I noticed trail of bubbles at the water surface. Three otters popped to the surface for a short time before disappearing under water. This otter popped right in front of me showing off it's meal.

Beautiful detail in the uncompressed view and great timing to get this one with its prize, Ludo! I might be tempted to go just a fraction lighter/brighter to enhance this wonderful shot, but I do love it as is!

Ludo, that's quite a mouthful, great reflexes to get the food presentation!  Love the details on the whiskers with the little waterdrops and those eyes peeking out from behind the muzzle.

Ludo, looks great in large view — and the detail is incredible.
