Desert Cottontail in July

A desert cottontail in July at Bosque del Apache hiding in the vivid greenery of summer. I'm surprised that its' ears are clean of parasites, as most aren't in any season.
Nikon D700, Nikon 500 f4 +1.4 TC, f11@1/125 sec.

I am sure there are some in the fur somewhere, Joe but I agree the ears do look remarkably clear of those revolting parasites. A lovely close up capture, with sweet detail, and showing why their eyes give such a great all round view. Nicely done!

Very cute! The soft even light really helps bring out the details. I like that the eyes and ears are clear of the greenery.
