Jaguar - The Pantanal, Brazil
D500, 500mm, ISO 3200, f/5, 1/200s
The high ISO performance of cameras today and the capability of the lens stabilization mechanisms, even on crop sensor cameras, is just so far beyond what we had just a few years ago.  It was almost dark when I took this from a boat that was bobbing around.

Sweet - packing for that adventure right now :) Super clean from what I can tell in the JPG surprising given the crop sensor. What lens the f4?

Beautiful cat that doesn't look too impressed at having its peace disturbed. Lovely body language, that stare, the lowered ears and the swish of the tail all say 'I'm not amused'.

Beautiful cat that doesn't seem to want your company. Nice exposure, color and detail in spite of the conditions.

I especially like the angle of the subject in relation to the horizontal background.
