We often ignore various small things while looking for the target species in the national parks. Sunderbans is such a place where you are bound to be stucked for the almighty Royal Bengal Tigers.

This time decided to look for some other species and encountered with this Blue Fiddler Crab. It is scouring in the muddy patch of mangroves.

Here is a short write up with couple of more images from the monsoon trip to the mangroves.

Wow I didn't know there were crabs this shade of electric blue! I like the inclusion of it's hole and all the little mounds of sand. I assume it's leaving the trails of sand as it forages. Very nice.

Well spotted Arindam!  Excellent behaviour illustration with the little crab busy sifting through the mud and sand and spitting out the waste in those tiny lumps around its burrow.  Good composition too!  Well done.

Nice write up and some lovely images!
