Spent a few weeks in Farmington, NM recently and found a large number of these guys residing in Animas Park right in Farmington. They were very cooperative and would come very close. I bet people are feeding them.
After watching these guys devour leaves that had fallen from trees in the area I bet the trees are glad that prairie dogs can't climb trees. If they could the trees would probably be "leafless" in short order. Nikon D500 with G2 Tamron 150-600, ISO 800, f6.3, and 1/400. Thanks for looking. All comments appreciated. Bruce Sherman
