Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas May 26, 2018.

Nikon D850, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/1000 sec at f/13, ISO 500, HH, no crop.

I'm always very careful around Texas Tortoise.  If you disturb them, they will usually release a fair amount stinky fluid for self-protection.  The discretion is primarily water, and the Tortoise can end up not making it during the Summer months if they cannot replenish that lost fluid.
