Beautiful cat - tried to click to enlarge for better detail, but didn't work.
Any chance you could crop closer to highlight those fabulous eyes ? Perhaps not with a 400 and 1.4.....
Excellent as is, but a little centered.

Many thanks Sandy,

Went for a landscape format, but works well in a closer portrait crop also.

very nice Marc.

Not bad the D5 on 7200. Like as presented... Personally, I like the use of space as it can be used to convey many things...isolation/size/sense of the environment etc... On this occasion, for my taste, it gives that sense of space, environment and the centering provides symmetry and works.

Be just as good in portrait mode, as Sandy mentioned, which is probably more suited to social media sites, but it would be giving a different image/message.

You make a very good point Dave, and sadly social media/Instagram and the iPhone has (somewhat) crippled viewing nature photography in all it's 2:3 ratio glory.

That is a lovely shot and yes, probably a vertical might be equally interesting. Lovely eyes.

Beautiful cat Marc (aren't they all)! but not too keen on the way you've portrayed her with the surrounding blur. I usually love your work but for some reason this one doesn't have your normal, distinctive appeal. Just my 2 pennies worth, and maybe its just me.

Great eye contact. Another vote for a tighter crop, either vertical or horizontal if it removes the bright sky in the background.
