Close Encounters

Yes, he really was that close, just the other side of our table.  Thankfully, he was a nice natured bull on that day and we sat very still so he didn't get agitated.  I have had some very close and frightening experiences with elephants, but this one was a gentleman!

Phew! Too close but seems undisturbed and very cool and eating grasses beside your dining table,those chairs adding some nice human element in this already beautiful image.You are brave and did the right thing in such close encounter.

great control and presence of mind to get this Carol.  Life memory!   Must have been wonderful to be so close...  Can imagine the smell was pretty strong too.   :oops:   TFS

Wow- what an amazing experience. So glad he behaved and even let you get the shot. He has a gentle-looking eye...but I'm no judge of elephants.
