That time of year when they are desperately trying to shed their winter coat.  Taken this morning.  Light quite poor, a prelude to heavy rain... seen the gnaw technique, the shake, and the rub against a tree for hair removal.   (personally, i prefer a razor...LOL)

D850.. Sigma 150-600 Sport at 350.  1/250 F8 at ISO 1250.  still playing with the D850... shot on a monopod today and whilst more adaptable, I think I'll stick with tripods as they let me sit still:  (these deer were quite skittish today and I had to use all sorts of cover to get where I wanted without the "walk away pose"..)...

This image really comes to life when clicked on. Super depth of field to get the ears and tail razor sharp. Beautiful work, Dave!

It must itch like mad when you're shedding your winter coat and can't reach certain places for a good scratch.  Lovely shot and capture of the moment of reaching at least one itchy spot!   Sweet pose, good detail and love the wide eyed look.

I'm with you on monopods, I have tried but still prefer a tripod when not hand holding. 8)
