What a mucky pup! You have to admire the tenacity and determination of these dogs when they're on the hunt. Looks like a good meal would be welcome here Steve.

Thanks Carol,

Wild Dogs are always cool to see, but after all the years of visiting Africa, I'm still reluctant to watch a kill by them compared to the Big Cats. Fortunately the Dogs got tired and eventually went into the shade allowing the Roan herd to congregate around the pan and then rescue the calf. However within minutes the pack reformed and gave chase for over 20 minutes, but again stopped and retired under the shade.

Great to see how the pack alternate and the strategy they implement, very intelligent animals.

Nicely composed and intent/alert pose. I might suggest just a little bit more saturation of the colors, or at least the blue of the water. Not much, just a few points to give it a bit more "life".

Interesting hunting pose. Love the raised paw and intent stare.
