Came across this wolf yesterday ... which I think has to be one of the weirdest coats of all time for a wolf.
I've heard a couple of thoughts on it so far. The first is that it is saturated dry blood causing the reddish color - which would mean that it's a short term thing. The second thought is that it's a cross breed with a domestic dog. This is problematic because this was in a pretty isolated area in BC ... but I suppose it's possible because there are maybe 50 homesteads within a 100 kms, and we all know that wolves can travel crazy distances.
