This male Wild Buffalo in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, India came up from behind me from the paddy fields and wanted to head towards the forest. I was in the way (unknowingly). So he was sizing me up...to charge or not to charge, that was the question. I noticed him before he made up his mind and immediately gave him the space he deserved. He gave me a withering look before crossing the road leading to the forest.

If they are anything like the wild African Cape Buffalo, you were wise to step aside!

Only bigger in size. Sometime back one of them gored to death, a male tiger about 10 feet long (without tail) in front of my camp in Kaziranga.
