This image was made in the early morning while the forest remained moist and dark from rain the night before. For a few moments, the sun broke through the remaining storm clouds and illuminated this young male fox with a beam of golden light. The dark moist surroundings in combination with the warm lighting from the side created an almost Rembrandt style scene. The young male fox was approximately 6.5 months old. Please click on the image to view it full size in shadowbox. Thank you. Nikon FX, Nikkor 200-400mm, f/4 @ 1/100, EV -0.67, ISO 1250, Wimberley II Head, Blind.

I love this, Ron! The beautiful light on the fox coming out of the darkness. What a thrill it must have been, and thanks for sharing such a special moment!

Gorgeous light on this alert youngster, Ron.  Love the pose, sweet detail and forest setting especially when clicked on to see the uncompressed view.  A pleasure to view this!  8)

this is just so gorgeous Ron. Love the way the light hits the fox in exactly the right spot and the way the bg recedes into darkness. Masterful

This is a great image Ron. The light on the fox coupled with the dark background really makes it pop.

Outstanding capture Ron, well worth clicking on this image to see the great details. The dark background and the bed of rusty dried leaves certainly add to this gorgeous image. Congrats,
Rob
