Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, Northern Maine.
Very dark morning but I had some success with the D3S instead of the D500. 

D3S, 440mm, ISO 9,000, F6.3 @ 1/125th sec.

Handsome Moose and lovely autumn colours Mark! A shame he wasn't facing the other way so that he was placed against the green trees and the richest leaf colours weren't competing with his magnificent head.

Yeah, it's true Carol - besides, the petting zoo only allowed that one spot for photographs!  :wink:  I'm sure I probably have something like what you suggested - I'll have to take a look, as I had him for about 6 minutes before he left.
