Lovely fall color setting for this Bob, the lines / layers of color are so pretty. Nice of her to stand up for you at this spot!

Very nice, Bob!
I like the comp with the inclusion of the shrub. Great pose.
Can you tell us a little about how this shot came to be?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,
It was pretty much luck that she heard or smelled something near and stood up in front of the tree. Prior to this she had been eating Soap Berries and mostly out of sight. I took it from a bus scheduled by our lodge for a day to look for Grizzly Bears at higher elevation where they were eating Soap Berries. We couldn't get off the bus if Bears were around, but the bus would stop and give us lots of time when they were spotted, unless there was traffic. We stopped for 8 Bears, of which 3 were close enough and presented an opportunity to photograph. I also saw 11 Bears in the same area on our bus ride out of the park, but I didn't have any good photo opportunities, even thought the bus stopped a couple of times.

A fine shot Bob, great looking bear and so imposing when standing at full height.

The autumn colours and light enhance what is already a lovely image!
