Wild Horse - Lower Salt River Basin, Arizona
D810, 24-70mm @ 70mm, ISO 400, f/8, 1/640
Early morning in the lower Salt River Basin photo of our very own wild horse herd that was discovered back in the 1950's.  These are hearty horses that survive in the scrub desert area near the Salt River which they use as a source for drinking water and cooling off in the 145 degree temps that they are subjected to under full sun in the summer.

Great composition with the placement of the three horses, and a nice depth with the inclusion of the habitat. A lovely image!

Lovely horse-scape, beautiful light and so lush and green it's hard to think it is desert. I still have to get out there to see these animals!

E.J., This is super! The interaction of the horses, color palette, cactus, rock outcrop--everything is in this photo. Well Done.
