Taken in Nakuru NP.  This is mainly a study of the textures, as it had been rolling around in the local clays during a wet period.  The bg is  it's youngster.

Looking at the mother, I cannot help feeling a soulful look and wonders what goes through their minds.

Nikon with 300 F2.8 at 1/320 F5 at 400 ISO.  Please feel free to view the image uncompressed.  Thanks

What a wonderful, close-up study of this female rhino. Impeccable detail and sharpness throughout the image, and great composition with the placement of the eye near the thirds. Finally, the mouth full of grass ices it. And I'm with you on wondering what these huge animals think. I do feel certain, however, that all animals have feelings. One of my favorite images from you, Dave. Brilliant! 8)

Yes, you have to click on this image to see the detailed textures of this magnificent beast, a cracking image Dave. Gives me some ideas for my upcoming trip to Tanzania. The 300 2.8 is one of the lenses I will be taking. Thanks so much for sharing.

What goes through their minds...probably, I want to charge that guy pointing a camera at my soft demure skin if I didn't have my mouth full. Nice shot Dave

You can't beat Rhinos and Eles for a multitude of close up possibilities with their wonderful hides! You have really made the most of this lovely intimate view. Nice one Dave!
