One of the best examples for a Gentle Giant is the White Rhino.. they live in groups, completely non-aggressive compared to their cousin the Black Rhino. Their numbers at Kenya have reduced drastically due to poaching.. here is one which surprised us at Nakuru.

D4, 500mm + 1.4xTC
ISO 1600, f8, 1/250 shutters
There was a huge rain and absolutely no photography during the morning hours then this happened, from a bush this boy came out and stood for almost a minute like this and lifted our spirits.. :-)

A little tight at the bottom for me Clement, but they certainly are imposing animals, aren't they! This perspective gives a nice view of the wide mouth which gives them their name.

Thanks for reminding us of the white rhino's endangered status due to poaching. Beautiful shot!
