This was an interesting find.  I had to lay on my back and look up into the palm frond to see the bats who were hanging underneath out of the sun.  I was using my 100-400 lens and the palm was so low to the ground that I had to scoop out a hole for my head and camera.  Anyway, it was certainly worth the trouble as it was the first time that I had ever seen these bats.

We've had some lovely shots of these little bats sheltering under the leaves, they are very photogenic.  Very difficult light to work with here, and a shame the top area is blown but you have got nice detail in those wonderful faces!  :)

Great subject and well worth the effort. I really like the composition as well using the diagonals of the palm leaves. I'm not sure how much you can do to tone down the white areas and have it look ok, maybe even take a tighter crop to remove some of it? When I cover that area over the little bat's faces stand out so much better!
