Got this elusive jackpot last month while leading a Bird Photo Tour at Singhalila NP of Darjeeling Himalayan forest...shot through fog, climbed up the opposite hill to get eye level but had no option other than this high key bg,hope you like this.

Canon 7DII,500mm,1/320s,f6.3,ISO 1000.
Thanks for looking,comments welcome.

Wow..... yet to shoot one. Jackpot indeed. High or low, a Red Panda always is a delight.

Just to say I have an almost identical shot...LOL     not for kudos as you should all know me by now but actually the reason for mentioning is that the shot I have is doing almost an identical thing.  climbing and foraging.  except that I saw my Red Panda at Kingussie Wildlife Park in the Scottish Highlands and naturally is on a differing tree.

I cannot imagine how hard this is to capture in the wild.  My hat off to you sir.

Like Dave, my shots of these wonderful creatures are all from wildlife parks in the UK - nice large areas with trees to roam, but captive all the same. Even with the less than ideal conditions you encountered here, what a buzz to see and get such a nice clear image. Well done!

I absolutely love the high key background - white skies are great backgrounds for so many subjects!  Wouldn't want it any other way.
