A couple of young Elephant Seal bulls battling it out.  If you want to know what a really dysfunctional family looks like spend a few days watching these guys during mating/pupping season.  I guarantee yours will feel normal after that.  :D

LOl. Like that description of the d/ family John. Caught the action perfectly.. looks like the lady is showing a decided lack of interest in the outcome... Looks like one bloody battle. Thanks for sharing this

Nice spirited interaction which appears serious from the blood. Ouch!  I like the surrounding habitat and the other smaller seals you included. Super action frame done well.

These fights do get bloody and quite serious, as can be seen here. I watched some in South Georgia that were battling for over half hour. Nice light on this and a good story-telling image.

It isn't easy to isolate action in these overcrowded colonies, and you've done well here John.  You have achieved a good, balanced composition to showcase the contrast between the testosterone driven bull action and the 'we've seen it all before' reaction of the rest of the colony. Well done!  Thanks for the laugh about the human comparison..........  :D

Great light and action! You did well to isolate them to this extent without a lot of extra seal parts.

John, oh wow, some crazy fighting action captured, the solid chomp on the neck and the attendant bellowing is quite dramatic.  Even so, it's 'another day at the office,' for the rest of the colony - a story telling image.  Your blurb is too funny :)
