Awesome Des, it conveys the conditions 100%, great work.

You weren't with Danny or Ed for this?

Thanks, Steve. AFAIK, I'm the only person in UK that leads a winter tour to do Musk Ox in Norway. Not an easy trip but great fun. Dan does his in autumn.
Regards,

Des

Thanks Des, good to know, as I feel Winter provides the best 'POV' of this subject, albeit I will head out in September, not with Dan though. :)

Cheers.

Much easier then, Steve. They can still be found near the valley where food remains relatively abundant. I assume you're going with a guide so locating them shouldn't be difficult.

In winter the conditions can be pretty harsh and they are usually near the top. Hiking in the snow with equipment is quite challenging. The longest trek I've done in one day was about 6 hours, that's including climbing from the valley below and tracking them near the top.

Edit: Just to add, we take clients up with dogs now (as of 2017) as many found the climb to be just too strenuous. Still have to track/follow them once on top though...
Regards,

Des

Beautifully done as always Des! A very compelling capture of wildlife in the harshest winter conditions and the clear view of the eye is the icing on the cake.

Images like this are worth the effort. Makes me feel cold just to look at it. Well done.
