Welcome to Wildlife. That's quite the catch- for you and the coyote. Quite a story telling image. Unfortunate that the front paws and rump are cut off- a vertical might have worked better, from the space standpoint, assuming it wouldn't cut off the elk leg/hoof. The vivid yellow eyes do bring you right in to the important part of the image though.

I tried to capture this coyote. I had a 600mm lens and he's was running right at me and I was out frame .

I've had the same thing happen with Grizzlies in Alaska.  Frustrating, isn't it!  Still, quite the capture.
