Shot during my yearly Fall visit last year. I was following a herd of American Bison and it was during the late mating season so there was quite a bit of commotion within the herd between competing males over the females that were in heat. You knew which female was in heat because a few males would start harassing her and chasing her around. Here is one such male running through an ocean of sagegrass.

If anyone is in the Washington D.C. area you can see this image in the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum as part of the Nature's Best Exhibition.

Canon 1D X; 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens; 2x II extender at 600mm; 1/15 sec at f/16; ISO 100; hand-held.

It's tough to get pan-blurs to work, but when they do, they're pretty cool images. The head and shoulder being sharp are the key here. Congrats on the honor.
